Halloween Trick or Treat

So I did this in my Special needs class because I like to be as extra as possible for my Halloween classes so there's not much by way of actual English learning but if you wanted to do this for a higher level one idea I had was to give each group a task they have to make the trick or treat-er do instead of just playing rock, paper scissors.

Mario Classroom Blast (Typhoon) 2nd Grade

I've made a 2nd Grade Review version of that Mario Classroom Blast game, it lasts a whole class and I used New Crown 2 structures.
If you need to fill a whole 2nd grade class fast then this will work for you, low prep! Make groups, get your JTE to keep score and you are ready.
***Please change slides 17 and 45 if you use it*** as it's my school and my name but otherwise it is easy, just start up and go.

Poster Quiz

This is a game for use in an English Club setting but I’m sure you can incorporate this into another setting as well.

These are real English adverts where I’ve photo shopped the tag lines out of. A close approximation for what the taglines were, are on the work sheet. (I.e. some sentences were too difficult or slangy to use so they were changed). The point of this is to be a fun exercise and to get them talking to each other about what they might mean. This is not a strict activity.

Get 4!

I've been doing a lot of stuff from Englipedia lately, but this is one I stole from Chad (previous JET) and changed slightly.

This is basically noughts and crosses, but you have to get four in a row.

Introduce the grammar point and demonstrate the game with the JTE.
For example, to go in the centre square you have to say "It is interesting for Doraemon to eat Dorayaki."
The students play in pairs.
